Geoff, Stuart and all of us would like to thank the following companies for so generously supporting the International 2001 bunfight raffle at the Carden Park Hotel by donating super prizes:

Arch Motors – Luggage rack
Danfield Ltd – Bottles of Moet & Chandon champagne
Imperial Hotel – Transistor radio
Kenrick Motors - £50 service voucher
Midas Metalcraft – Adjustable suspension top links
Redline Components – Riv-nut tool
Track Sense - £100 track day voucher

While we are about thanks, the next time you buy either ear-plugs or rubber radiator / exhaust mount bobbins from the Club Regalia stand, please note that all the money donated goes straight into the NtL pot as they were donated to regalia by Slipstream Trackdays.  Peter Steer reckons there is no need for any panic buying, as there were so many so kindly donated that stocks should last for several seasons at the very least!

*FOR YOUR URGENT ATTENTION*

Now then, I guess there may be one or two of you who don't get on to Blatchat but you should know that there is a big needle match going on between Arnie Webb and Peter Carmichael as to who has the fastest car.  It’s a Vauxhall - v - K Series kind of needle match that we all know and love, and endlessly wax lyrical about over our pints at area meetings round the country.

Both these guys spend almost obscene amounts of money and time forever trying to squeeze an extra few bhp from their engines and fiddle about with anything and everything to make them go just that little bit faster and handle just that little bit better.  We had a bit of a preview at Brooklands with Arnie pulling a 3.38sec 0-60 time and Peter 4.21sec, with an expiring clutch and (relatively) skinny tyres.

Lots of us have been trying to get both of them to enter the Curborough sprint next May (a must for the diary) for a once and for all head to head, and have been pledging money to NtL if both of them enter, turn up and get a timed run.  What started as a bit of egging on has now become pretty serious for NtL as the pledges so far total more than £2700! – Yes, £2700!

So what we want is more pledges to ensure that both of them (short of death of course) do turn up and do get in a timed run, we need so much money pledged that neither of them will dare to pull out.

Cheques payable to "Leukaemia Research Fund" please ..and send to:
