 Jan Smit has got back home safely from his Cycle-odyssey 2001 and apart from being 10 kilo’s lighter has had donations pledged on his website
(www.westernfront.nl/lrf.html) of over £700 so far, so now is the time to get round collecting all the money your friends, family and work colleagues have pledged.
Jan cycled a total of 3145 kms (1955 miles), which is pretty cool and well worth a dig in those pockets! The trip also cured most of the whiplash injuries sustained from the earlier accident in his Rover, which is probably a shame as he’ll not need to visit that young blonde physiotherapist again.
All in all a magnificent effort Jan and hopefully I’ll be hearing the whisky stories from those you met on the way!
For those of you that haven’t looked at Jan’s website, Jan is the Chairman and webmaster of a private museum in the Netherlands set up in July 2000 and dedicated to the Great War, WW1.
