Wow! Through the 100K

What a stonking month, very well done to everyone. Through the 100K with 6 months to go. Brilliant effort!

What amazing results from our marathon man,Will Paul, and Arnie Webb's Le Mans Seveners at La Sarthe in Summer… Both Will and Arnie have written a few words about their respective events, see separate articles. (Will's article)

Once again Lisa, Arnie and co. have come up trumps with Le Mans 2000, Sevens at La Sarthe in Summer; taking us through the 100K…  A cheque dropped through my door today with proceeds from the usual performance by resident L7C Le Mans band, Duck Soup - as well as TV coverage of the F1 Canadian GP and the 24hr race itself.   Best highlight however, had to be getting a tenner each from the Germans who wanted to watch the England v Germany Euro2000 in the company of 300 Brits!  Brave bastards they were too…. Lucky we won!

So a big thanks to the Le Mans Organising Team for the effort made in making the trip so enjoyable and the fund raising happen with such a spectacular result. No, I'm not guessing, Arnie convinced me to take one of the trucks down for them so I saw for myself!  Finally of course a great big thanks to all the club members who participated - it couldn't have been done without you.

Last month being such a rush with our Ed going on holiday, I didn't get chance to expand on the Curborough Sprint result. Of the £200 raised, £20 was the profit from the shared test afternoon and £50 was a generous donation from the British Motor Racing Marshals Club. The balance of £130 being raised by Barbara Swift from those drivers who gave so generously for an extra run round the circuit after the event had finished.

Cheques payable to "Leukaemia Research Fund" please ..and send to:
